Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation for Patients with Severe Symptomatic Aortic Stenosis

چکیده

The cost-effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) compared to surgical replacement was examined in patients with severe symptomatic stenosis at high, intermediate, and low risk, the findings were mixed. When replacement, some studies suggest that TAVI is cost-effective (less costly and/or more effective) not cost-effective.
Factors such as type system used, cost treatment-associated expenses (such post-operative follow-up costs hospitalization costs), characteristics selected for treatment likely impact stenosis.

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation in Jehovah's Witness patients with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis.
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is currently reserved for high or prohibitive surgical-risk patients with aortic valve stenosis. We report on successful TAVI in two Jehovah's witness patients. It offers a simple and effective treatment of severe aortic valve stenosis in high-risk patients who refuse the use of allogeneic blood and blood products.

BACKGROUND Short-term results are presented from our first year of experience with transcatheter aortic-valve implantation [corrected] (TAVI) at the University Hospital of North Norway. MATERIALS AND METHODS TAVI was used to treat 25 patients with aortic stenosis [corrected] from September 2008 to August 2009. 25 patients operated with conventional aortic valve replacement (AVR) served as con...

متن کاملTranscatheter aortic valve implantation for patients with severe bicuspid aortic valve stenosis.
BACKGROUND Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is regarded as a relative contraindication to transcatheter aortic valve implantation attributable to the risk of uneven expansion of the bioprosthesis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in patients with BAV. METHODS AND RESULTS Of 470 patients included in our prospective transcat...
